The Science Behind Dry Ice Cleaning

Compressed air accelerates dry ice pellets (-78°C) at the contaminated surface. On impact, the pellets sublimate instantly—converting from solid to gas—creating rapid thermal contraction that cracks and lifts contaminants from the substrate.

Unlike sandblasting or soda blasting, dry ice leaves no media behind. The CO2 evaporates completely, leaving only the removed contaminant to sweep up. No water means no drying time, no rust risk, and safe use on electrical equipment.
